Documenta 14

R. H. Quaytman

The daughter of a poet and a painter, R. H. Quaytman (born in Boston in 1961, lives and works in New York) is known for her quasi-abstract oil paintings, silk-screened photographs of obscure provenance and subject matter, and iterations of iridescent geometric motifs. Since 2001, the American artist has adopted a systematic approach to her work, both scientific and literary in nature: the formats of her paintings are dictated by the golden ratio, with each new exhibition constituting a new chapter in her oeuvre. הקק, Chapter 29 was presented at documenta in Kassel in summer 2017. L.E.
